As part of Stories That Matter 2018: Borders, Objectifs presents an evening slideshow of exciting new documentary photography from Myanmar, a country struggling with the challenges of transitioning from an oppressive military regime to a civilian government. During this time, a new generation of photographers has seized opportunities to explore issues that were previously only discussed in secrecy.

This slideshow is curated by Matt Grace from Myanmar Deitta, a not-for-profit civil society organisation focused on documentary photography, filmmaking and multimedia production in Myanmar.

It will be followed by a dialogue session with visiting photographer Minzayar Oo, one of Myanmar’s leading freelance photographers known for covering the country’s political and economic change in recent years.

Minzayar will also conduct a seminar on pursuing and sustaining long-term documentary projects, on Sat 17 Mar, 2pm to 4.30pm. Register here.
