Course Description
View Singapore’s city centre through a new lens with this guided photowalk of buildings and areas of significance in Singapore women’s history, presented by a trained guide from SCWO.

Learn about these women’s invaluable contributions and legacies while picking up tips on street and architecture photography from photographer and Objectifs instructor Deanna Ng.

Technical requirements
Participants are to bring their own cameras that they are comfortable with for this workshop. Smartphones are suitable as well.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The class will meet and end at Objectifs.

• Brief introduction to some significant women photographers
• Camera handling and settings, and composition tips
• Guided photowalk with SCWO guide covering women’s history of each site
• Return to Objectifs for review of images in group sharing session

Participants may wish to view the Women in Photography exhibition at Objectifs’ Chapel Gallery following the workshop.

SCWO Tour Guide: May Hui                                                                                

May obtained a tourist guide license from the then-STPB in 1980. She holds a B.Sc (Hons)  International Tourism and Hospitality Management.  She is a WSQ certified trainer and assessor and a National Trainer with World Federation of Tourist Guides Association (WFTGA).

May has 38 years of experience in various aspects of guiding for schools, corporate clients and ministries.  As a trainer, she delivers tourism related certificate and diploma courses.

Her passion in heritage also led her to attend more specialized training programmes. She is now a docent with the Friends of Museum and has conducted tours for various heritage institutions in Singapore. She also conducts the Tiong Bahru and Queenstown trails regularly.
