FEM by An Chorong

Fem is a photo book that explores femininity, gaze, and spatial perception. It brings together outdoor landscapes photographed by the artist’s mother with a mobile phone and interior scenes captured by the artist using a film camera. These two perspectives intersect through the window—both literal and metaphorical—revealing a tension between inside and outside, self and other, looking and being looked at.

About An Chorong

An Chorong is a visual artist based in Seoul, working with photography. Her practice explores the material presence of images and the relationship between the body and space. She often works with overlooked gestures, traces, and structures that mediate intimacy and distance. She has participated in exhibitions and residency programs in South Korea and Asia.
