Take your skills to the next level with this intermediate black and white darkroom photography course. Taught by renowned fine art photographer Mary-Ann Teo, this short course is perfect for photographers looking to deepen their understanding of traditional darkroom techniques. Explore the creative process of black and white printmaking, including hands-on instruction in using filter gels, and mastering essential techniques like dodging and burning to enhance contrast and detail in your prints. Ideal for those with basic darkroom experience, this workshop offers a focused, artistic approach to film photography printing in a professional darkroom environment.

Please note:
This is a very hands-on workshop. Participants’ learning will be most effective if they are able to make all of the sessions. As the workshop is repeated several times a year, participants may wish to register for a future round if they already know they may miss several lessons during this period. Make-up lessons and refunds are not offered for sessions missed.

Participants will need to have black and white film negatives. Participants will also need some experience with 35mm film processing or darkroom processes. (Please refer to our Black and White I page if you are looking for an introductory class on film processing and the darkroom.)
