‘Family Pride’ started off as a remembrance for his mother, and has since grown into something more.
Through speaking with other Malaysian-Chinese families who have endured similar hardships and documenting the sacrifices they made to secure their children’s future and education, he aims to pay tribute to the previous generation. This photobook was made in conjunction with Puah’s solo exhibition for ‘Family Pride’, curated by artist Liew Kung Yu, and held in early 2022.
