Build your Camera Obscura Workshop
Embark on a journey of dsicovery and explore the fascinating origins of photography! In this hands-on workshop, young adventurers will uncover the secrets of the camera obscura — a simple optical device that allows us to see the world in a whole new way.
Using cardboard boxes and a lens, participants will build their very own single-focus camera obscura and discover how light travels to project an image of the world around them. Along the way, they’ll experiment with light, observation, and perspective, unlocking the science behind one of photography’s earliest inventions.
From curious explorers to budding photographers, participants will journey back to the beginnings of image-making and discover how a simple box can open up a whole new world of possibilities!
All materials provided. No prior science or photography experience is needed — just a curious mind and a spirit of exploration! Suitable for ages 6 – 14 for children of all abilities.
