Bodies: Women in Film & Photography Exhibition 2023

The seventh edition of Objectifs’ Women in Film and Photography explores the theme, Bodies, through the works of artists from Southeast Asia, South Asia, and East Asia.

Seeking to preserve and illuminate, these layered narratives reveal intimate and powerful moments of loss, community, resilience, imagination, and empowerment. In doing so, the artists in this edition have adopted different approaches which incorporate documentary, autobiography, archives, constructed tableaux, as well as dance and movement.

By navigating geographies of the body, ambiguities of tradition, and contestations of territories and histories, Bodies foregrounds both personal identity and collective existence, inviting us to relook at the world we inhabit.
