Open Call: FreshTake! 2026

FreshTake! is a short film programme featuring works by first-time and early-stage filmmakers. Celebrating the spirit of risk-taking and varied perspectives, it aims to platform the voices of students, recent graduates and youths from diverse backgrounds.

Selected films will be screened as part of the Objectifs Short Film Festival in October 2026, accompanied by post-screening discussions.

Applications will be assessed by Objectifs and a guest programmer.

The FreshTake! programme is part of the Objectifs Short Film Festival.

Application Criteria

ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be individuals based in Singapore who:

a) Are currently enrolled in full-time education or are recent graduates (between Jan 2025 and May 2026);
OR
b) Are not currently enrolled in an educational institution, but are youths aged 28 and below.

Kindly note that proof of identity may be required for verification purposes.

2. The submitted short film must have been completed in 2025 or 2026.

3. The duration of the submitted short film must be 30 minutes or shorter (including credits).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are to submit the following in a single Google Drive folder (please ensure that your Google drive link is accessible.):
1. Link to short film (Please ensure that your preview link is accessible. Inaccessible links would not be considered.)
2. Film synopsis and information (duration, year, etc)

3. Director’s biography, including Instagram handle if applicable (max. 1 page, PDF)

All submissions must be made in the English language. Films in any other language other than English must have English subtitles.

Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Projects that were previously submitted and not selected will not be considered, unless significant changes to the script has been made.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. All entries must be complete and submitted through this form by 29 June 2026, 11:59PM (SGT).

2. All content used in each submission must be either owned or licensed. The entrant is responsible for all necessary copyright clearances for material used in their submitted works. If any copyrighted material is used in the film, the participant must obtain written permission for it in the event they are required to provide a copy of it for reference.

3. Successful applicants will be informed of the selection results by July 2026.

4. Objectifs will not provide individual explanations on the non-selection of a film.

5. Rights of the materials submitted will belong solely to the applicant.
