Sat 15 Sept 2018, 3pm to 7pm
Workshop Fee: $90
In an era saturated with imagery, and with increased ease of and access to travel opportunities, what makes for compelling travel photography? In this short single-session workshop, visiting instructor Tom Ang, a leading authority on photography and winner of the Thomas Cook award for Best Illustrated Travel Book for his photography of the Marco Polo Expedition, will cover approaches to travel photography with a focus on street scenes.
With close reference to his extensive experience, Tom will discuss what makes an effective photograph in the context of travel photography. He will share how to identify photo opportunities with the goal of not only capturing a unique image, but also thoughtfully capturing the local flavour of a place and culture. The workshop will also cover technical, ethical and cultural considerations in travel photography.
A guided shoot in the vibrant Little India neighbourhood will allow participants the opportunity to apply these learnings in a hands-on fashion. The workshop will then wrap up back at Objectifs, with a review of images in a group sharing session.
