Duration
2.5h over 1 session
Course Description
Soak in the atmosphere while learning about street photography, architecture photography, simple portraiture, and shooting in the morning light. Then learn how to edit them to your preferred aesthetic using the Lightroom Mobile app while saving presets for future use.
Participants are to bring their own cameras they are comfortable with using; smartphones are suitable too.
Jalan Besar is a centrally located one-way road in Singapore whose unassuming surrounding streets are dotted with an eclectic mix of old-school businesses like industrial hardware stores and traditional cuisines, and highly acclaimed third-wave coffee spots, boutique hotels and vibrant murals — many of which are housed in conserved shophouses with unique architectural features and intricate details.
Centred on busy Arab Street, Kampong Glam is known as Singapore’s Muslim Quarter. Its 19th-century shophouses have been turned into stores selling textiles and casual restaurants serving spicy Malay and global fare. Notable landmarks here include the golden domed Sultan Mosque and the Malay Heritage Centre, where exhibits focus on local history.
