Ng Hui Hsien is an artist, writer, and researcher. Her art practice uses photography as a medium to explore themes such as consciousness, the nature of reality, (im)materiality, and interconnectivity; they are sites where the unconscious can find expression, indirectly or otherwise.
Hui Hsien’s work has been internationally exhibited in institutions and festivals, including a solo show at Reykjavík Museum Of Photography. Her limited-edition, hand-stitched artist book – The Weight of Air – is in both public and private collections including the New York Public Library (United States), Hellenic Centre for Photography (Greece), and Asia Pacific Photobook Archive (Australia). It is one of the featured books in How We See: Photobooks by Women (10×10 Photobooks, 2018).
