Chalo? Chale!

Upon turning 25, Singapore based designer and documentary photographer Kae Yuan decided he had to do something meaningful and challenging with his life. He impulsively booked a trip to Lucknow, the largest city in northern India’s state, Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, born Chalo? Chale! – a city to city documentation of the places and people Kae Yuan met in three colourful Rajasthani cities: Jaipur, Johdpur and Jaisalmer.

Chalo? Chale! is a common slang that the North Indian locals use. ‘Cha-lo?’ means ‘Shall we go?’ while ‘Cha-le!’ means ‘Let’s go!’ Locals uses it as an invitation and a response.
