An intergenerational photography workshop in conjunction with "Portrait of Home" by Lim Kwong Ling

Sat 6 Jul, 3pm to 6pm
Admission: $10 per pair

Calling all photography enthusiasts, young and old! Sign up for this intergenerational photography workshop held in conjunction with Portrait of Home, an exhibition of black-and-white photographs of Singapore’s early independence days by 87-year-old photographer Lim Kwong Ling.

In this hands-on workshop led by photographer Chia Yan Wei, participants will work in intergenerational pairs (a senior person above 60 years old and a younger person above 6 years old) and will:

  • View the exhibition Portrait of Home by Lim Kwong Ling
  • Learn basic tips on how to take better composed and creative images
  • Embark on a guided photowalk through vibrant, multicultural Waterloo Street
  • Create a take-home keepsake while sharing their experiences and stories of Singapore past and present with each other.

No prior photography experience is required, and participants can use any camera they are comfortable with, including smartphones. The registration fee of $10 is for each intergenerational pair, and art and craft supplies for the take-home keepsake will be made available for use during the workshop.
