In an era of fleeting digital content and misinformation, documentary photography grounds us in reality by offering visual narratives that evoke empathy, spark dialogue, and preserve a record of our moment in history. The works in this showcase, however, are more than just documentation; they reflect each photographer’s unique way of seeing and understanding the world around them.

Through their raw and honest lenses, five emerging storytellers from the Diploma in Design Communication and Experiences at LASALLE College of the Arts have spent the past 15 weeks seeking, documenting, and reflecting on their chosen subjects. Each project highlights the connection between photographer, subject, and viewer, allowing us — and future generations — to witness the diversity of human experience. In a way, their work is an act of solidarity, bridging the distance between individuals to inspire deeper understanding and compassion.
