| A Session on Comedy Writing by Mort Scharfman February 17, 2004 |
Laugh your way to the bank! The two symbols of excellence in the field of sitcom writing are the
Emmy Award and the dollar ($) sign (not necessarily in that order). Now
Emmy winning sitcom writer, Mort Scharfman, will tell you all about what
it takes to take both of them home; why Television is the most popular
and lucrative medium ever, especially for writers; how it is rapidly eclipsing
the movies and why (hint: TV on demand with Hong Kong already in the lead
technologically). What's more, Scharfman will regale you with stories
and anecdotes of his golden Hollywood days. The lecture will be both a
peek at the secrets of sitcom writing and the business of show business
on the small screen. |
