every Tuesday, 730pm and 930pm
S$20 for one session or S$50 for all three sessions
Pre-registration required, limited spaces.

Discover the language of film and the visual seduction of storytelling through moving images with local filmmaker, Francis Lau. In this seminar series, you will learn to evaluate and analyse a film through the breakdown of scenes and understand the motivations behind them. Each seminar investigates a different topic from various perspectives and will make reference to both local and international films. You will also get an introduction to cinema history and discuss the dialogue between these films and our social culture. The class will start with discussions on form and structure then move on to thematic analysis.

Appropriate for both filmmakers and film buffs, these seminar sessions will open your eyes to a whole new side of filmmaking and impart a much needed visual literacy for deeper film appreciation. A book list and film reference guide will be provided post-seminar.
