We are pleased to have with us Esan Sivalingam and Bratina Tay, the people behind the upcoming feature film City Sharks, to share with us their experiences behind the scene. City Sharks is Esan’s maiden feature – stepping into his shoes as a first time feature director will give budding filmmakers a unique insight into filmmaking in Singapore.

We will be screening highlights from “Heart of Darkness: The Making of a Comedy”, which documents the making of City Sharks.

About Esan Sivalingam

Esan has had extensive experience in television, having written and co-created multiple sitcoms such as Under One Roof, Happy Belly, Kids Talk Back, Phua Chu Kang and Brand New Towkay. He has just completed City Sharks, and is working on a new feature project, Jokers Wild. Esan is also a winner of the 2002 Prize for Screenwriting from the Los Angeles based Screen Arts Foundation.

About Bratina Tay

Prior to City Sharks, Bratina had taken on a variety of directing and producing roles in film projects such as Heart of Darkness: The Making of A Comedy, Teenage Textbook: The Movie, and The Making of Home Run. Bratina has also worked in television on shows such as Phua Chu Kang, Brand New Towkay, A War Diary and Capital E.
