The National Museum of Singapore, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute presents the first-ever Singapore retrospective of the Italian master of modernist cinema, Michelangelo Antonioni.

One of the world's most celebrated and innovative filmmakers, Antonioni created a body of startlingly beautiful, original and still amazingly resonant works of film art spanning six decades that examined the anomie of modern life.

The retrospective will showcase sixteen feature films by the Italian master, many of them screened for the first time on the big screen in Singapore, including early works like THE VANQUISHED / I VINTI (1952) to groundbreaking classics including THE ADVENTURE / L'AVVENTURA (1960), BLOWUP (1966), ZABRISKIE POINT (1970), and rarely seen works like CHINA / CHUNG KUO - CINA (1972).

The retrospective will also include programmes of Antonioni's early short films, a roundtable discussion and documentaries about his life and work.
