"Home Is Where The Art Is" focuses on generating ideas and inspiration for photography in Singapore. Three photographers will share with the audience their own sources of artistic motivation and direction. Above all, these locally based photographers will illustrate how ideas can be found, even in our very own backyard. The programme is as follows: 200pm - 300pm Tay Kay Chin: An Idea A Day This programme is co-presented by Objectifs and the Singapore Art Museum.

| About Tay Kay Chin Tay Kay Chin is a 2003 Hasselblad Master based in Singapore. After receiving his journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, he joined The Straits Times as a photographer in 1993, before becoming its Picture Editor in 1999. From July to September 2001, he was the Presentation Editor of the Sun newspaper in Bremerton, Washington. Kay Chin's works are collected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, the European House of Photography in Paris, and private collectors. About Chuang Lee Jen Chuang Lee Jen plunged into his dream of becoming a photographer immediately after graduating from the Nanyang University in 1977. As a self-taught photographer armed with more than 10 years of experience in commercial photography, he set-up J Studio in 1994. Until today, Lee Jen's enthusiasm in commercial photography has never faded and his studio provides one of the most cutting edge digital images and techniques in Singapore. About Ken Seet Ken Seet started photography as a graphic design student at Temasek Polytechnic. After graduation, Ken worked as a graphic designer while teaching at Photographers Choice. In 1996, he opened his own photography business, Ken Seet Photography, and has since divided his time between commercial and fine art photography. Over the last decade, Ken has had four solo exhibitions in Singapore and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Asia. His works have been featured in various newspapers and publications and have been widely collected by corporate and private collectors worldwide. Getting to Singapore Art Museum Please note that owing to the MRT constructions in the area, the road junctions joining Waterloo Street and Queen Street to Bras Basah Road have been closed. Vehicle access to Waterloo Street and Queen Street is now only via Middle Road. The driveway in front of the SAM is closed. For parking, please proceed to the nearby NTUC Income Building, Plaza By the Park, Allson Hotel, Rendezvous Hotel and City Bayview Hotel. |
